AbÅ« ḤanÄ«fa al-NuÊ¿mÄn b. ThÄbit b. ZÅ«á¹Ä b. MarzubÄn known as AbÅ« ḤanÄ«fa for short, or reverently as Imam AbÅ« ḤanÄ«fa by Sunni Muslims, was an 8th-century Iraqi Sunni Muslim theologian and jurist, who became the eponymous founder of the Hanafi school of orthodox Sunni jurisprudence.
