NOACs Easy 1.0

NOACs Easy 1.0

About this app:

This app is designed to assist healthcare professionals to select the right dosage of the various Newer oral anti coagulants (NOACs - apixaban, dabigatran, edoxaban and rivaroxaban)(or DOACs) that needs to be administered to patients presenting with non valvular atrial fibrillation. It also helps you to understand the various drug interactions and how to choose the right NOAC (or DOAC) for your patient.

The application suggests the dosage that needs to be administered to the patients base d on several criteria like age, gender, weight, serum creatinine levels and the creatinine clearance (CrCl). The CrCl values are calculated automatically using the Cockcroft-Gault formula when you enter in the required fields. The app then gives you the dosages of various NOACs (or DOACs) based on the prescribing information and the conducted studies.

There is also a list of various drugs that can interact with the NOACs and you can select the drug from a drop down menu. Once the drug is selected you get an idea of the right NOAC dose that should be administered and what the drug interactions are for the various NOACs. This will help you choose the right NOAC (or DOAC) as we do know from real world studies that a lot of patients are being given the wrong doses of NOACs which can lead to an increased risk of stroke and bleeding.
